Talking with Pangong Lake

Meet Rhea and Bharat my fellow riders for Pangong. How much of  a 'Delhi girl' I saw in Rhea, I remain awed by her knowledge about her domain. She has been working in energy sector, now going ahead for a sustainability course in London (do not remember university :P).
Bharat, the marketing head for GHE. He is always overwhelming with ideas about promoting GHE.

It was a tiring 6 hour journey from Mahabodhi to Pangong. Sitting in the backseat of car, I did enjoyed the wonder that was outside my windows. The mountains changed colors, the terrain kept surprising and few locations beyond defining as we crossed Chang-la pass (5360 mtr) and few other high roads.

the colors..
The last kms were alongside the multicolored lake itself and I spotted numerous new species of birds. I so wanted to go out and click few pics of them.

from the window.. as we tracked along the lake..
As we got down of our vehicle, I was dying to walk to the lake and see some birds. Coco accompanied me and we walked along the shore for a while to eventually sit in silence listening to the sounds of water and wind. Cannot explain this but I felt I could talk with this lake. I can just say I felt a lot of anger in return as if it wanted me to go away.

Any praise of Pangong will never justify it's beauty. There were unexplored mountains and pathways all around it. You can live a life here still cannot reach each treasure of this.

Later Aaron, Seeba and Arnold also reached the point. We went little further to explore its shores before starting back as it was getting dark.

The red jacket was not a good idea to spot birds :P
It was the most interesting night as we all exchanged stories of us, what motivated our lives and how we eventually got connected to the message of sustainability. I was inspired by a lot of them and stil remember my learnings that I'll keep mentioning in this blog.

Next day after an early walk, we left Pangongfor another arduous journey (few people got a chance to dip in lake but wasn't my day).

Meet Paras, our expedition leader as we bid adieu. Now what to tell about this guy. He is a visionary personality, taken up unreasonable challenges in his life and living up to each of them. Yes that's what I learned from him, to be unreasonable in your life. Our thoughts aligned as well mostly, maybe we both being Punjabi's who believe in getting things done rather than just talking. He is really moving things in a challenging place like Ladakh, which is remote, disconnected and a dynamic place. Only with his strong will he is able to achieve and planning so much ahead to save this planet.
